Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championship has begun and that means I’ve got my headband, Mum loves it – the Tennis that it! she is very patriotic and tears drop on me from time to time. She wore a headband years ago when she was at Piccadilly Radio, she loved radio and did very well, you would think they would like her back especially as her voice is not 70 and you can’t see her – seems that the Radio World has changed, we met someone the other day and she said “You can’t be from Manchester and not know Susie Mathis” Mum was really moved ! I was too.
She keeps telling me about her times at Wimbledon, she has been on two occasions, both with my God-mum. Champagne and Strawberry’s were partaken off, maybe less of the fruit, she saw Andy Murray and she roots for him except when he wears black socks. she says they make his feet look too big. Mum and Godmum shared an evening with Andy’s Mum, Judy recently -they all saw the opening night of 42nd Street and partied till they fell over.
Betty and I had a fight today, I don’t know what it was over-just that it frightened the hell out of Mum and confused Joan, Betty’s Mum. I think were too similar, with us both being of the sausage variety.
When I stayed at Betty’s I tasted my first sardine, so now Mum buys them for me, sometimes we share a tin but I don’t have mine on Toast. That doesn’t sound very Wimbledon does it ??

I like Wimbledon too. I don’t like Andy Murray as he always seems such a miserable sod. Black socks, hmmm, sounds about right. I like strawberries too, champagne …oh … & Anna Kournikova, as she had a nice bum. I wonder if she still has it … the bum I mean!
Well I can always rely on your wit shining through XXX
You are Bonkers Phil
