English Weather

My Mum is sick and tired of this summers weather, if it carries on like this -I think I will be applying for a passport. She has the sort of hair that goes curly if the atmosphere is damp- which she hates! and this year her barnet has been positively frizzy. The Dyson hairdryer is her God.

There has been a lot of moaning when she takes me out in the morning, we have been drenched three times this week. Mum wears this deputy dog hat with flaps for ears, I reminded her that at least she has two ear flaps- I have no covering for my earless side !

I went to Newgate again to see Jenny for my bath & brush- she is good with us canine’s- she has to be- they are a right motley crew! When Mum picked me up, she was in a right grump- saying ” you’ll spoil that lovely clean coat with this bloody rain. I suggested, she should have remembered my rain coat- but that fell on deaf ears! Typical.

I was born in Ripon in the open countryside beside the Moors so I am more used to inclement weather, Mum, being a southener keeps looking at the Map showing the forecast and sighing, I dread the day she loses it and wants to move south – what would I do without Betty, Barney, and Martin- and I am even growing fond of Ruby the newby.

Betty’s Mum, Joan has been poorly this week and Martin my neighbour has been off colour for weeks, So I decided to go on a health kick ! Broccoli, Cucumber, Coconut Water Porridge and Kale. Blimey! it lasted two days- Im back on the grain free that Jenny gave me and my treats. Mum shared her pasta with four cheeses with me last night, phew! that was so good-I think life is too short to deny myself the delisious things in life, especially as I age 7 years to Mums 1, That means I will be catching her up soon !! Second thoughts- Maybe Not !  Slap on good Ear  ouch !!!

Mum went to the fabulous Tatton Flower Show with her friend Jane, they loved it and Jane had her picture with a beautiful Horse, what do you think ?

  • What a week Gertie, sounds like your mum’s Dyson is working overtime. If she’s not careful, she might be calling me out to change the fuse soon.
It’s a good job your not on the green stuff anymore. I remember when uncle Martin’s hair went a bit green with all that stuff. We dont want that to happen to you, do we.
Lets hope this weather clears up soon. ☺x
