There was a time that I resented my birth Mother for biting off my ear, but seeing as we have a growing population of Dachshunds on my patch, Im kinda glad that I stand out from others as I’m unique with my ONE ear.

Peggy Sue is the latest addition, we have the same Father, snappily titled Magik Rainbow Jacomo Kazanova At Thythe. My good friend Betty has the pleasure of living with Peggy Sue and their Mum Joan sometimes takes care of me. Poor Peggy, they have changed her name a million times and even as I write this she could now be Nancy, Gracie or bloody Tilly.

My Mum had chosen my name before she took me home as she loved the little girl in ET and wanted her own Gertie. I expect your wondering if I felt a connection with Peggy- Mum says I did, she is such a romantic- but I think she is right as I wasn’t too jealous – I actually felt quite protective and I can’t wait until she joins us all on our walks. We will be 4 Dachshunds in all Betty Boo, Peggy Sue, Ruby and Me.

Last Saturday we were invited to recreate a Bali BBQ as my neighbours children have spent time there recently- Dogs were invited and I made friends with Jack and Grace, two BIG brown furry dogs who I am normally scared of- it seems my Mum was the scared one -as I had the best time- especially playing Boules with the grown ups.

Mums booked Newgate and lovely Jenny for my grooming  (I am sooo dirty) and Peggy Sue is visiting tomorrow !!
